Healthy Children = Academic and Social Success

The New Hope Children’s Clinic provides hope, help and healing in order to positively impact the lives of the children in our community, as well as to promote and improve students’ health and academic capability.

Our Mission

New Hope Children’s Clinic is a non-profit, school-based pediatrician office created to increase access to and provide comprehensive medical care for children in southeast Madison County and surrounding communities.

The New Hope Children’s Clinic breaks barriers, changes lives and gives hope to children through local, low-cost healthcare.

Our History

The New Hope Children’s Clinic emerged from the HEALS project, which once operated at our current location on the New Hope Elementary School grounds from 2005 until 2007. After the HEALS clinic closed, dedicated medical professionals recognized the need for continued affordable pediatric healthcare in the New Hope area. These incredible volunteers, supported by Cove Church and local entities, established the New Hope Children’s Clinic as a non-profit, school-based facility.

2009 New Hope Children’s Clinic Opens

With seed money from Huntsville Hospital Community Health Initiative and Cove Church, New Hope Children’s Clinic started in August 2009. In its first year, doctors recorded over 500 patient encounters, and patient numbers continued to grow over the next two years. The two exam rooms were consistently full, and it became evident that the converted single-wide business trailer was too small. Providers also recognized the need for dental and vision services in the community.

2012 – A New 2,500 Sq. Ft. Building Opens; Dental And Vision Services Are Added

In early 2012, staff and volunteers fundraised for a new 2,500 sq. ft. modular building, donating the existing trailer to Lincoln Village. The “new” New Hope Children’s Clinic opened in July 2012. Later that year, the clinic secured a Federal Grant, enabling the setup of two dental and one optometry exam rooms. Today, the clinic serves medical patients five days a week.
